I have been criminally neglecting my website for well over a year now. Guess I just got in the habit of posting on my Facebook page, the Mark Moore/S’Express page and on Instagram. Well there’s no excuse now that we are in second Lockdown in the UK – so here’s a round up of a few select items. How you managed without these I will never know. (Part 2 of 4)
Mark Moore, Hussein Chalayan & Dan Donovan Collaboration
What a pleasure to collaborate with Hussein Chalayan and Dan Donovan to write and create 4 new songs as the soundtrack for the Chalayan Autumn Winter 2020 ‘DREAMTRACKS’ show. We then performed the songs during Fashion Week with Mr Chalayan singing live while the models walked the new collection. We will be releasing the tracks soon, probably as a Vinyl E.P. and download so watch this space! [And then along came Covid-19. These tracks will now come out in 2021 re-tweaked!]
Here are a few press write-ups:
S’Express Sex Education
If you’re looking for a bit of fun escapism I suggest watching Sex Education on Netflix. And I’m not just saying that because they play S’Express during the big party scene in Season 2 – honest!
It’s got a touch of all that’s great about Richard Curtis and John Hughes movies. It will make you laugh and it will make you cry, but mostly it will make you laugh.
Have been filming again as I was invited to appear in a new documentary about the legendary band Suicide (produced by Start Productions). I’m talking about when I was a teen and when I first saw Suicide supporting the Clash at The Music Machine. Not to mentiont the influence and impact they had upon me after. Gives me a great excuse to put up this brilliant picture of a young Alan Vega and Martin Rev.
Johnny Marr’s Guitar
How lovely to see Johnny Marr and his wife Angie in the West End and have a natter. I didn’t think to take a photo though – so instead here’s a gratuitous pic of me posing with Johnny Marr’s Fender guitar. It almost feels like a religious artefact![So – little did we know what 2020 had in store for us back in February. I remember feeling really, really fatigued shortly after the fashion show and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me. A touch of Covid fresh from the catwalks of Paris and Milan perhaps? Hard to believe so much has changed so quickly.] [See you soon for Parts 3 & 4 and once again I hope you are all well and in good spirits! Mark Moore]
