I have been criminally neglecting my website for well over a year now. Guess I just got in the habit of posting on the Mark Moore/S’Express page and on my Instagram. Well there’s no excuse for this now that we are in second Lockdown in the UK – so here’s a round up of a few select items. How you managed without these I will never know. (Part 4 of 4)
Smashing Hits! The 80s Pop Map Of Britain & Ireland
If you missed the BBC documentary Smashing Hits! The 80s Pop Map Of Britain & Ireland you can watch my bit here. It’s a great documentary. However I spotted a mistake in the bit where I’m talking about Steve “Silk” Hurley’s Jack Your Body getting to number 1 – I’m saying, “This is it! The House music revolution’s gonna start now!” and they are playing Taffy’s I Love My Radio in the background! Oops!
Interview by the absolutely lovely Kim Appleby.
S’Express & Mark Moore Drop That Ghetto Blaster! Spotify playlist
Here’s an S’Express & Mark Moore Drop That Ghetto Blaster! Spotify playlist – some S’Express originals + remixes, a few Mark Moore remixes/collaborations (Malcolm McLaren – Deep In Vogue, Soft Cell, Seal, Billie Ray Martin and more!) plus a couple of S’Express cover versions. Hope you enjoy!
Sue Tilley’s Life Drawing
Sue Tilley (artist, author of Leigh Bowery: The Life and Times of an Icon + Lucien Freud muse and more) asked me to be the model for her life drawing class. This involved us chatting online for an hour while people logged on and drew me. Do not worry I remained fully clothed throughout. The portraits were great – really impressive work and a fantastic evening. Check out the video of me and Sue chatting about all kinds of stuff:
Tonight! Grab your pencils and get ready for Sue Tilley‘s Life Drawing. I will be the model while you draw, paint or use whatever medium you fancy. During this Sue and I will have a natter! Don’t worry if you think you can’t draw you can!
